On May 18th, we stood in front of the Judge and became the adopted parents of Joseph Lucas White. On that day, my son was ours. One down, one or two more to go.
On that weekend, we put the girls in respite and enjoyed a quiet weekend, one where we didn't have to put children in time out, or hear that the oldest had hit another child.
We did the same thing this last weekend when we went to Kacey's graduation. That's right, Kacey is no longer a high school student. We were going to move her in with us this last weekend, but, let's suffice it to say, I think she got guilt tripped into staying one more week with her mother. Oh well. That's cool.
On June 4th, we say goodbye to the two girls, and send them to live with their older brother and sister, and peace and quiet will descend on our house for a while.
I've been told I'm a good father, but I have to admit the two weekends where I didn't have to put the girls in time out has been nice. Now, if we could just get two well adjusted girls and adopt them, we'd have a great family. But no luck, since we get the one's that are defiant, and know we can't spank them. (Snaps fingers.)
So, one June 4th, I go and help Kacey move from Canyon to here. and it'll be nice to have another adult to talk to.
